V rising steam charts9/9/2023 ![]() The server I was on had a clan that literally everyone despised - they ganked new players, spouted homophobic nonsense in chat all the time, raided people specifically when they logged off, etc. I started playing PvE with some friends on a private server and that was just some great fun, but after you've beaten all the bosses everything stops, there's nothing left to do.Īfter that, I joined a PvP server - the early game here is especially good with a lot of back and forth, but it slows down significantly with the extreme resource costs that come with mid-late game progression. I really enjoyed this game, it's been one of my favorites in years. The fact that this game has more polish and content in the beginning of early access than many fully released games is legitimately impressive Very much in the basket of games I’ll continue paying attention to as more content is released. ![]() I also really dug the general vibe of the game/art style. That all being said - the combat was excellent and fighting the various bosses was fun. The constant danger of PVP probably does a good job filling that void and maybe having more aggressive NPCs that would actively seek out your base in PVE would be a good alternative there. ![]() I felt like it needed some kind of side content outside of just the main boss progression to keep players (or at least, me) engaged during that downtime. We were able to defeat some bosses outside of our level but we had to do it pretty cheesily The gear progression is also just “bigger numbers” for the most part (outside of weapons/different jewelry effects etc) and having a hard wall on content your gear score is too low for just reinforced the on rails feeling. The blueprints system was also somewhat frustrating at times since most (maybe all?) of them are acquired via RNG. This isn’t all that different than progression in other survival games, but with fairly long real-life timers attached to everything the optimal way to play seemed to be just stockpiling resources into crafters and logging off until they’ve smelted/whatever and then going to do the next boss. Get resources of X type to build the next upgrade station, build it, use station to upgrade what you can, find next boss to get access to next crafting station, repeat. Personally I dropped it because the progression systems felt extremely on-rails. They still hop on and play from time to time but I’ve not played since ~ 2 weeks after it came out. Played PVE on a shared server with some friends. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
